WILLIAM HALL COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT HAPPENING: Barkathon 2009 is May 17th at Bare Cove Park in Hingham The walk begins and ends in the parking lot off Fort Hill Street entrance just past the Fire Museum in Hingham. To help, get one or more sponsors, collect a donation of any amount and bring your dog, real or imagined, to the Bare Cove Park. Take one of several trails through the park and meet back in the parking lot for prizes, refreshments and fun. Your company can help by making a donation in any amount, by making a donation goods or services that can be given out as prizes during the Bark a thon or by helping in the care of the animals at the Animal Shelter. Your Company information will be posted during the event on their Wall of Fame. The shelter serves the towns of Scituate, Cohasset, Hingham, Hull and Norwell on an as needed basis. It is a non-profit, tax exempt organization dedicated to the welfare of companion animals, whose mission is to rescue abandoned, homeless animals and give them proper care, love, and attention. They are a no-kill shelter. The organizer of the walk is William Hall, a senior at Hingham High School, who is an avid animal lover. His dog, a four-year-old terrier mix named Princes Leia, was adopted at the shelter, and he has a pet sitting business that he has operated for several years in his spare time. With the help of Family and Friends, he hopes to make Barkathon 2009 even more successful than last 3 years.
